Creating an Online Infrastructure for Science and Technology Networking in the Islamic World

The 4th Conference of Science & Technology Exchange Program (STEP) in Islamic Countries accompanied with a reception and live music in the symbolic tower of Soltan Qabus came to an end.

As reported by Pardis Technology Park Public Relations Dept., the 4th Conference of Science & Technology Exchange Program (STEP) finished its work after three days of meetings and negotiations among some 80 scientists active in the field of health, energy and water.

Rasoul Dinarvand, the secretary of the 4th Conference of Science & Technology Exchange Program (STEP) in Islamic Countries said in the closing ceremony, "According to the broad issues existed regarding the research and development conditions in the scientific and research centers, the following recommendations were initiated in line with scientific and technological collaborations among the Islamic Countries:

1- Creating a suitable online infrastructure aimed at networking in science & technology collaborations as well as sharing and propagating information,

2- Formation of endowment with the purpose of investment on activities beyond the scope of the existing capabilities such as supporting the elite researchers, hard-working scholars, and the new predicted measures etc.

3- Sharing researches and the infrastructures related to research and development,

4- Supporting the programs related to academic grants with the financial advocates of institutions and Mustafa Science & Technology Foundation,

5- Increasing awareness and public knowledge in the Islamic Countries,

6- Formation of an International Consultation Council for Mustafa Science & Technology Foundation,

7- Promoting the level of gender balance and presentation of the researches conducted by the young scientists in the research meetings and projects,

8- Supporting supervision programs by the prominent scientists from the young students,

9- Facilitating the employment of science & technology in serving the community,

 

In the closing ceremony of the 4th Conference of Science & Technology Exchange Program (STEP), the young researchers were also awarded prizes for their distinguishing achievements. Jokha Adollah Alkalbani, for offering a project in the field of communications and information technology, Amal Bati Alebri, in the field of communications and information technology and Khadijeh Saeid Alrashidi, in the field of Physics were the winners of this round of STEP.

The participators of the 4th Conference of Science & Technology Exchange Program (STEP) from Mustafa Science & Technology Foundation and Soltan Qabus University appreciated the measures taken for holding this event and creating an opportunity for gathering the scientists of the Islamic world together aimed at the optimal scientific future of the Islamic countries.

It is worth noting that Mustafa Science & Technology Foundation established the Conference of Science & Technology Exchange Program (STEP) in Islamic Countries as one of its major programs set with the aim of raising cooperation among scientists in 2015. This event takes place annually.
