VP Terms Qualitative Ecosystem of Technology and Innovation as Today's Need to Achieve A Knowledge-Based Economy

Addressing a brainstorming meeting with managers of accelerators and innovation centers at Azadi Innovation Factory, Vice president for science and technology Roohollah Dehqani Firoozabadi said that the country's innovation and technology ecosystem must move towards a knowledge-based economy.

Referring to the expansion of the country's innovation and technology ecosystem and the experiences gained in the last decade, he said: We need to redesign the country's innovation and technology ecosystem.

The innovation and technology ecosystem should move towards a knowledge-based economy, and in this regard, the role of accelerators and managers of innovation centers is very strategic, he added.

Meanwhile, Mehdi Azimian, head of the Innovation Acceleration Center of Pardis Technology Park said that the main goals of the Innovation Acceleration Center have been to promote entrepreneurship and support the creation of sustainable startups.

To implement these goals, supporting holding entrepreneurship events such as Pardis Summit, as well as supporting the formation and development of accelerators and co-working spaces have been on the agenda.

Currently, 24 co-working spaces and 71 accelerators are members of the center, and the approval of guidelines for supporting accelerators and co-working spaces, and the payment of facilities and grants to them, as well as helping them become knowledge-based, are among the measures taken by the Innovation Acceleration Center in the last eight years.
